Donor Advised Funds (DAF)
Give Through Your Donor-Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple, tax-efficient way to support Friends of the Children–Twin Cities. Through your DAF, you can recommend grants to help us keep our promise to children and families: 12+ years of consistent, caring relationships, no matter what.
Why Give Through a DAF?
DAFs offer flexible giving, potential tax advantages, and the ability to make one-time, recurring, or multi-year grants. You can also choose to give anonymously.
How to Make a Gift
- Log in to your DAF provider's portal (Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, etc.).
- Recommend a grant to Friends of the Children–Twin Cities (EIN: 92-0729592).
- Designate your gift as unrestricted to support our greatest needs or specify a program.
- Consider recurring grants to sustain our long-term commitment to children and families.
What Can't You Use a DAF For?
DAF grants must be charitable and cannot provide personal benefits to the donor or others connected to the donor. Generally, DAF grants cannot be used to:
- Purchase event tickets, meals, auction items, or other benefits.
- Pay for memberships that include more than incidental benefits.
- Make grants directly to individuals or political campaigns.
- Split an event payment between a DAF grant and a personal payment when the DAF grant would provide a prohibited benefit.
